David Kessler:
i've spent days now trying to get my site to look like a place where
you can come and see an archive of videos and not just a blog. I
haven't found anything that works for me. every plugin that i find
still insists that i know how to code to be able to use.
i'm a filmmaker, not a coder.
hows about an easy way to view my archives as thumbnails that link to
my wordpress posts? this sounds like a doable solution to me but i'm
still completely lost.
Brook Hinton:
Wordpress being open and free and all is marvelous, but as a non-coder
sometimes I really regret settling on it. Flexible themes and such
that don't require code tweaking are few and far between IME.
Stan Hrson:
I wanted to create something on the order of a coffee-table book of text and videos on a rather narrow subject. The videos compliment the
text to explore the subject at depth. People go back and forth between stories based on their personal interest at their own control rather
than arbitrary categories or chronology.
synchronis.tv
"I ran into this problem with synchronis.tv as well... I needed to use
wordpress for financial reasons and loved how easy it was to upload
my episodes and to alter my code and widgets- even for someone with
almost no coding experience. However we produce live scripted web
dramas and the journal format felt too casual for the viewing
experience I was looking to create. I ultimately used podpress,
which I am definitevely not in love with for video. Wordpress is an
amazing tool, but more video centric themes would be a huge boost to
its functionality, especially as video on the web grows more and more
diverse."
